What should I expect when I attend a rehab clinic?

Before your rehab begins, you will be assessed both over the telephone and in person. The assessment seeks to identify risk factors that will play a part in your detox and wider rehabilitation programme. Following this assessment, you will begin a detox.

Your detox seeks to treat the physical aspect of addiction. During your detox, you will be given medication to counteract withdrawal symptoms.

You will experience withdrawal symptoms for around 4-7 days, however, the duration of detox varies from person-to-person.

During your detox, you will be closely monitored by the rehab’s clinical team. This is particularly important since many withdrawal symptoms are potentially fatal if not sufficiently treated.

For this reason, Rehab 4 Addiction will only recommend clinics that are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This ensures clinics we recommend are inspected by the CQC at least twice a year. Following this inspection, a full report is issued.

Rehab 4 Addiction carefully studies these reports to ensure we do not recommend rehab clinics that are not up to our high standards.

Another vital component of rehab is daily therapy sessions. Therapy aims to help you diminish the emotional issues in your life that fuel your addiction. Many people resort to drugs and alcohol as a way of neutralising their mental demons.

Therapy gives you the tools to combat emotional issues so you do not feel compelled to take drugs or alcohol. Therapy is offered via individual and group therapy sessions.

Group therapy takes advantage of peer learning, whilst individual therapy allows you to discuss more intermate issues privately with a qualified therapist.
