Rehab 4 Addiction

There is an unnecessary stigma and sense of shame that surrounds alcohol and drug abuse. It is because of this stigma that every year, thousands of people go without life-changing treatment or even avoid asking for help in the first place.

If you feel this applies to you or a loved one, and have been putting off getting help because of this stigma, we are here to help.

Rehab 4 Addiction understands the difficulties in admitting the existence of a problem with drugs or alcohol, but if you are reading this, you have taken your first step on the path to recovery – we hope you stick with us the whole way.

It can happen to anyone

Dealing with drug or alcohol abuse can feel like a lonely road, but you are most definitely not alone. There were 268,390 adults in contact with drug and alcohol services from 2017 to 2018, and that number has remained relatively steady throughout the years.

Addiction can happen to anyone and can be caused by a number of reasons including sexual abuse, dysfunctional families, and peer pressure. Coping strategies we develop as children can lead to unhealthy habits in adulthood, traumatic events can trigger the need to turn to drugs or alcohol for escapism, and no one is exempt from developing a problem.

There is no shame in how you got here, in fact, it is understanding what lead you here that can help you to recover. At Rehab 4 Addiction our team of highly trained medical staff and therapists will, with your help, seek out what may have steered you personally to drug or alcohol abuse, so we can tailor any treatment to fit your specific needs.

How we do things in Accrington

As we said before, just by being here, you have already taken a huge step on your journey to recovery. You are concerned with your health and have acknowledged you may have a problem, and that is a good start.

You may be feeling anxious and unsure as to what lies ahead on this journey, but Rehab 4 Addiction will aid you in any way we can, starting with a breakdown of the processes we go through.

When you call us and admit yourself to rehab, our admissions team will be on hand to welcome you and give you all the necessary information about the clinic.

We understand that everyone has different needs and no person is the same, so we make sure to go through an initial pre-admission assessment to get to know you better. This simple questionnaire consists of short questions about you and your physical and mental health.

It is also given so we can ascertain your levels of drug and alcohol use. As tough as it sounds, it is important that you are 100% honest with us in the assessment so that we can provide you with the best treatment possible.

When we are satisfied with the information gathered from the assessment, we can arrange for you to be checked into our rehab clinic. With no waiting list, your admission will speedy and simple.

It is then that you will be introduced to the team. You will meet with a doctor who will conduct a short evaluation of your physical and psychological state, and our recovery team who will always be on hand to assist you.

The local residential rehab facility will become your home for the next few weeks, so you’ll be shown around by our team to get a feel of where you’ll be staying.

Treatment and aftercare

Once the doctor has determined your current state of physical and mental health, and you have assessed yourself honestly, we will have the relevant information to start your personal treatment plan, and the data needed to review the progress you make along the way.

The doctor will first prescribe you the relevant medication to ease any withdrawal symptoms you may be suffering from, which brings you to the detox phase of your treatment plan.

Detoxification is the process of your body removing the drugs from within it, until the bloodstream is completely free of the substance.

There is no escaping the truth that this will be a challenging time for you. The withdrawal symptoms can show up in various undesirable ways and can depend on a number of factors, such as the drug or alcohol you have been consuming, how long you have been consuming for, and any underlying medical conditions you may have. Trust us that this phase is necessary in your recovery.

We will continually be monitoring your progress from here on out. We will see if you have any reactions to the medication you are prescribed and keep a close watch on your responses. This all helps us to better understand how your detox will progress and can assist us in altering and improving your treatment plan.

Again, everyone is different, and, therefore, nobody in our care will have identical treatment needs. Many people thrive in support groups, whereas others respond better in one-on-one situations.

You may have certain preferences when it comes to your treatment, and we make sure you have ample opportunity to let us know any changes you feel would be beneficial in regular reviews.

The last and sometimes most vital part of your treatment plan is aftercare.

When you eventually leave our care, the responsibility will fall to you to continue your treatment. Everything you will have learned during your time with us will assist you in making better decisions for yourself and your health, and help you return to your normal life once again.

If you do ever find yourself needing more guidance after your stay, we have a 24/7 helpline you can contact.  We offer help and support for those seeking detox and rehab across Lancashire.

We know this whole process is daunting, but please don’t hesitate to make that call. It could save your life.
