Drug and Alcohol Rehab in Bromsgrove

Britain’s relationship with drugs and alcohol (particularly alcohol) is a complicated one. There is no doubt that substance abuse is rising throughout the country.

This nation’s addiction to alcohol has gone on long enough to now be described as ‘the UK’s favoured coping mechanism’.

There are many different reasons why people turn to substances. It could range anywhere from life stressors to peer pressure from the people around you.

One of the best ways to help tackle this issue is rehabilitation centres. Rehab is a programme of treatments that will help facilitate the journey to becoming completely sober.

The courses of treatments range from physical to psychological in an effort to fully get the holistic benefits of rehab.

Are You Ready for Rehab?

Rehab is a small part of the lifelong journey that is sobriety. Despite this, it takes a lot of physical and mental determination to get through the rehabilitation process but once you have completed it, rehab sets a good foundation to continue your road to recovery.

It is important to know what rehab entails before you step foot into one of our centres.

So what happens throughout your rehab treatment?

It is important to know that your rehab treatment will look at tackling the emotional, mental and physical aspects that have caused and come about due to addiction.

A holistic approach is needed when tackling dependency, especially if you have been using or drinking for quite some time. Your rehab journey will start with a detox.

The detox stage will focus on the physical aspects of recovery. Often with a medical professional present, you will be weaned off the substances.

This can be a difficult stage with strong withdrawal symptoms such as heightened anxiety, tremors and even hallucinations. This is why having a trained member of staff there is the best option.

Not only will you be able to receive medication to ease withdrawal symptoms, but you will also be able to ask any questions regarding your detox and treatments.

Although it is preferred for you to have your detox at a rehab centre, there is a possibility for this stage to be done at home.

However, safety measures must be taken. Rehab 4 Addiction has certain requirements for you to be able to perform a detox at home.

These include:

  1. You have never experienced seizures or fits, whether that is due to drug and alcohol addiction or from pre-existing medical conditions
  2. There must be a trusted person to accompany you through your detox journey. They must be with you at all times to ensure your safety
  3. You must be able to set aside a maximum of 10 days for your detox
  4. If you are addicted to alcohol, your consumption must be below 30 units a day

Please call us on 0800 140 4690 to learn more about the differences between at-home detoxes and detoxes within our facilities to see which one is best for you.

After going through the detox stage, you will then start your various treatments. This part of your rehab will tackle the emotional, mental, and psychological aspects of your rehab.

Treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), art therapy and group therapy will help you navigate feelings that have been created through substance abuse. Medical professionals will help facilitate the space for you to understand the cause of your drug and alcohol misuse.

When you recognise the causal factors of why or how you fell into substance abuse, you will then be able to take further steps to make sure you do not fall back into that state, ultimately curbing potential relapse rates.

The Difference Between Residential Rehab and Outpatient Rehab

There are two types of rehab: residential rehab and outgoing rehab. The difference between the two is primarily in how they are run.

Whichever one you choose, you will still be receiving the majority of the same treatments.

Residential rehab is usually found in the private sector, although statutory options also exist. This form of rehab requires you to stay at our facilities during your treatment.

Our facilities are spacious enough to allow for privacy as you complete your treatments in a beautiful setting. You will have access to staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allowing for comprehensive support.

Inpatient rehab is a bit more expensive but is often recommended due to its holistic outlook and wider forms of therapy available to you.

Outpatient rehab is a longer-term form of treatment. You will be receiving treatment at a rehab centre, however, you will not be staying in our facilities.

This is a great option for people who may be early on in their addiction journey or have supportive family and friends around them to help them through the treatments.

This option allows you to be in the comfort of your own home which may help ease you into the treatments. Although you will be in our centres during timetabled hours for treatments, it is preferred for you to have your detox while in one of our facilities so our staff can help you through it.

Consistency is key for this form of rehab as you will be responsible for showing up to your sessions.

Aftercare

Once you have completed your treatment, we recommend you join one of our aftercare programmes. It can be nerve-wracking when you finally complete your in-house rehab treatments.

Feelings of loneliness and the fear of relapsing can be prominent. This is why we have aftercare programmes. At Rehab 4 Addiction, we make sure that our support goes beyond the main rehab treatments.

Participating in an aftercare programme will also reduce your chances of relapsing because we will still be involved in your journey to sobriety.

Is There a Success Rate with Rehab?

Ultimately, the success of being completely abstinent of drugs and alcohol lies down to the patient. If they are not fully committed to becoming sober, then the potential for relapses are higher.

However, the interventions of rehab treatments significantly increase that goal of becoming drug and alcohol-free.

We at Rehab 4 Addiction are here to help you through this journey. Our facilities in Bromsgrove are staffed by medical professionals who will be able to advise you on the best course of treatment.
