Why choose Rehab 4 Addiction?

We recognise that admitting you may have a problem with drugs or alcohol and deciding to reach out for help can be a scary and stressful ordeal.

That is why we try our hardest to ensure that the support, advice, referrals and treatment we offer here at Rehab 4 Addiction is of the highest possible standard.

We work hard to make the admissions process for our clients as smooth and easy as possible, so you have one less thing to worry about.

We know that dealing with a drug or alcohol addiction is challenging enough as it is without the pressure of having to find the perfect treatment for ourselves, which is why we take as much of this burden off your shoulders as we can.

This way, you can continue to live your life and focus on yourself whilst we do all the heavy lifting behind the scenes.

Waiting around whilst you are living with a drug or alcohol addiction is risky, and can sometimes even be fatal, which is why we deal with all enquiries quickly and efficiently to ensure there is no long waiting list.

By getting you placed in your chosen drug and alcohol rehab in Crewkerne as soon as possible, we increase your chances of reaching a full and long-lasting recovery.

We also ensure that you receive the best care possible for your particular needs. By performing a few short and simple assessments of you throughout the admissions process, we gain a better understanding of you and your addiction.

With this information – which remains 100% confidential – we can determine what your needs for treatment are and can get to work creating a bespoke treatment plan.

Having your treatment tailored to you yet again increases your odds of reaching a successful recovery, rather than if you were to receive a blanket, one-size-fits-all treatment that may not be as effective for you as it is for others.

Lastly, here at Rehab 4 Addiction, we do not discriminate between clients. We do not base our services on the ethnicity, race, background, sexuality, gender identity or social status of an individual.

If you are in need of addiction treatment for a substance or behavioural addiction, you are welcome and wanted at Rehab 4 Addiction.

We are also open to change and take feedback; if you have any concerns or worries about our services or feedback about how we can do better, please do not hesitate to let us know.

What is a drug and alcohol detox?

A drug and alcohol detox, or simply detoxification, is the process of allowing the body to remove the drugs in it.

Your experience with a drug and alcohol detox will differ based on many factors of you and your addiction, such as:

  • The length of time you have been using for
  • The substance or multiple substances you have used
  • The severity of your particular addiction
  • Your family history
  • The state of your mental and physical health
  • And your method of use (snorting, smoking, injecting, etc.).

These factors will also lend a hand in determining how long detox will take.

Detoxes can be done at home, sometimes referred to as ‘DIY detoxes’, but this is not always the best option.

Quitting ‘cold turkey’ whilst on your own, or from a high-class substance, can be extremely dangerous – sometimes even deadly. If possible, a detox should always be carried out by professionals, to ensure everything is done properly and safely.

It is also helpful to have medical support around when detoxing to monitor your progress and to intervene if you respond badly to medication for any reason.

During your drug and alcohol detox, it is likely that you will experience a number of withdrawal symptoms.

These can include:

  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Mood swings
  • And muscle pain.

Though this can be a scary time, try to remain calm and know that these side effects are completely normal and expected during a detox.

A doctor will be on hand at your chosen rehab to prescribe you medication to ease these symptoms if necessary.

Do I need to undergo a drug and alcohol detox?

Unfortunately, yes.

A drug and alcohol detox, though it is often the most daunting part of a rehabilitation programme for clients, is also the most necessary and important step in your recovery journey.

Undergoing a detox will mean you can begin your other treatments such as therapy and counselling and will allow your body to start healing on a ‘clean slate’.

As mentioned before, you are able to perform a drug and alcohol detox yourself at home, but this is not advisable for all clients due to the nature of your addiction having a direct impact on the results and process of a DIY detox.

If you do wish to undergo detox at home, please give us a call to discuss your situation first, as can we can identify whether or not this is a viable option for you based on a quick assessment of you and your addiction.
