Helping you to find the right drug and alcohol rehab clinic

head to head

Rehab 4 Addiction was set up in 2012 with the aim of securing top-quality rehab treatment for those in addiction.

We are here to help you make sense of the countless options and find a private rehab clinic that is the right fit for you.

All we need to do is conduct a consultation with you over the telephone, after which we can suggest a suitable clinic near to you, as well as inform you of the pricing, timeframe of treatment, and other considerations.

We also offer free and confidential advice to anyone who is considering going to rehab or is worried about the substance abuse problem of someone that they care about.

We have a team of expert advisors waiting to take your call, and all calls to us are free from UK landlines.

You are not obliged to take a drug and alcohol rehab placement by calling us – even if you just want to talk to someone about what you have been going through, we are here to listen. Please call us on 0800 140 4690.

What can I expect from drug and alcohol rehab?

Even if you have come to the decision that drug and alcohol rehab is the best choice for you, most people still don’t know what goes on in rehab on a day-to-day basis.

While all drug and alcohol rehab centres are different, there are certain fundamentals of addiction treatment that will remain much the same across the board.

Below we have listed the three basic stages of rehab treatment, in order:

Assessment and detox

Once we have referred you to your clinic and you arrive on site, you will be welcomed by a member of staff who can show you around the facility and settle you in, before taking you through a new arrival assessment.

They will ask some specific questions about how long you have been using, what substances you have been abusing, etc. Although some people might be understandably hesitant to answer honestly, please be assured that you will not get in trouble or be judged for it.

They just want to be sure that they get your detox plan right, and that you are not a threat to yourself or others.

Once your assessment has concluded, you can move on to detox, which will be managed by a small team of medical professionals who will look after you every step of the way.

This might involve the use of medications, such as Librium for alcohol withdrawal or Subutex for heroin withdrawal.

This is administered in order to reduce the risk of suffering severe physical symptoms while going through withdrawal. Other drugs may not have a high risk of physical symptoms; however, you will still need to be monitored to ensure your psychological health and well-being.

This is one of the main benefits of recovering a rehab – going through detox with this proper medical supervision in place is so important, especially if you are trying to come off drugs like heroin, diazepam, tramadol, or alcohol.

Going ‘cold turkey’ with these drugs is extremely dangerous, and is never advisable. If you have specific questions about detoxing from a particular drug, we will be happy to discuss this with you in more detail over the phone.

Your drug and alcohol rehab therapy plan

Addiction is not a straightforward condition, and treating it requires a number of different approaches. At rehab, you will be under the care and guidance of top mental health professionals, all of whom specialise in recovery and addiction treatment.

As well as administering therapy sessions, they will be able to prescribe medications where appropriate, as well as educate you on the mechanics of addiction and provide you with the behavioural tools to fight it.

Your therapy plan will span the course of a few weeks, and could include any combination of the following:

You will find that this diverse therapeutic approach helps you to better understand your own addiction, as well as feel more confident about handling cravings and ruminations in the future.

You may also find that the group sessions, where you share with other patients in drug and alcohol rehab, can be very rewarding. You will get to share your burden with others, while simultaneously gaining new insights from their perspectives and experiences.

Even if you are shy or introverted by nature, once you push through that social discomfort, group sessions can be very valuable in your recovery.

Another key part of therapy is working out how you will manage your cravings and maintain your wellbeing once you leave the rehab clinic.

This will come in the form of a relapse prevention plan, which the staff at the clinic will be able to help you with.

This plan may suggest things like going to therapy and/or group meetings, as well as reassessing who you socialise with and the kinds of places you go to on a day to-day basis.

Staying in recovery for the long term will be hark work, but having a firm plan in place will be very helpful in achieving that.
